Enter Solar Flair -- kick ass spy chick extrodinaire. Just one problem -- Flair's been assigned buxom blond "efficiency expert" Mandy from head office to tag along on her mission. While doing some looking about on the internet today I found this other website for Z2H, Z2Hmedia. More directed towards to the business end of things from the looks of it. Now I'm not sure if anyone else here has seen this already but while browsing the site I found an animated portion of the Solar Flair comic.

If anyone happened to follow the animated Dead Space comic that told the events preceding the game's story, then you'll already have an idea of what this is like. It's pretty cool to see a property we all know shown like this. So if you've seen this already let me know what you thought of it and if you haven't then check it out and then share:)

Also a quick note about that dead space comic, it's under the Dead Space tab when you reach the menu screen. Seems obvious, I know but seeing as how EA is pimping Extraction right now, I thought I should give fair warning.

Aha, so that's the way to get published boys and girls... Farm themes to feed into their obsession.  Bring on "Avengers Saskatchewan" and "X-Tractor", or mabye (John) Deeredevil.  C'mon,...

Maybe I just missed it, but I didn't see any blogs showing off STURSTEIN's latest fan art. He did all 6 personalities of Jenny from Tenzil Kem's pitch, Inside Out. And as if that wasn't enough, he did a kickass Mucha style pinup of Solar Flair! Check out his gallery. And while you're there, be sure to check out Riana and Bree from Worlds Apart. ;-)

"In space, no one can hear you file"  I thought that was such a clever tagline when I first read Solar Flair!  Then for Christmas, PWB got Space Above And Beyond (1995/96) and the tagline reads "In space no one can hear you scream" and I thought of Solar Flair right away and went AH HA!  it's an homage!  (correct me if I'm wrong please Jessica)

So I was just telling PWB about the clever line and he tells me it's from something older.  After a quick google search and a hunt  through our movie collection, we found Alien (1979) with the tagline "In space no one can hear you scream".  Now that I know the background of the famous line, it makes Solar Flair that much more clever in my book ;)

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this line is used elsewhere in sci-fi history?  Was Alien the first?

Alien was one of the firsts. And tell PWB that he's lucky I didn't do a five finger swipe with this Space DVD. I wanted it. Damn, I could have used my iron skillet...

When you were a kid, did you have an idol or someone you looked up to who, by today's standards, was not exactly the paragon of virtue you had them made out to be? Someone who nevertheless shaped your subconscious' understanding of what "cool" truly is?

I'll go first...

When I was a kid, I thought this was the height of womanly sophistication:

I think "Solar Flair" was just the inevitable by product of a subconscious stuffed full of Duran Duran videos and feathered bangs...

So what's your dirty little secret? Did you aspire to one day be hip enough to push up the sleeves of your blazer and slide across the hood of your corvette each morning? Did you fight over which of you got to name your Barbie "Chrissy" when you played Three's Company? Do you still think Jennifer on WKRP is hot? (don't get me started about them losing the music rights to that show in syndication. grr...)

How has 70s and 80s pop culture warped your understanding of the world today?

If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the asteroid field...
If you're not into space yoga, if you have a cyborg brain.
If you like making love at midnight, under a laser beam grid;

You are the Handler I've been looking for and I want to live, so it's a win-win for me.
