Despite my hunch that I was having a baby boy, everyone kept telling me I was definitely having a girl (shows them). Fala was inspired by writing something with a little girl of my own in mind--what I would want my daughter to read and learn from in comic book form. The story is a Native rendition of Alice in Wonderland influenced by the friends I see in the roles of the colorful characters Fala, Trickster, Badger, and Diva.

North Wind is a collaboration between Myron A. Lameman and myself, where we see ourselves and our friends in the faces of these characters. When we first met, we hit it off by discussing the differences and similarities between Whitiko/Wendigo stories of the Cree and Anishinaabe. This is an homage to the beginning of our relationship and the ties we have from the North to the West in a steampunk setting we wish was real.
