It's About D*mn Time Our coast-to-coast campaign intends to discover the next great generation of comic writers. And you don't need to be a hardcore fanboy to apply. If you're an aspiring screenwriter or a closet novelist, a starry-eyed playwright or a tough-as-nails journalist, you can be part of the Comic Creation Nation. Starting in October, we're calling on writers to pitch their ideas on the Zeros 2 Heroes social network. As our online audience rates, reviews and refers your pitch, we’ll pick out those stories that the community stands behind and get them into development. If you’re one of the chosen few, we'll team you up with professional editors and artists who have been chosen because of their talent and commitment to your project. Over the next two months, you'll see your work come to life on Zeros 2 Heroes. Once it's published, the fun really begins as our marketing team starts the process of pitching your story as the foundation for a film, television series, animated feature, video game… or graphic novel. | | Our Editor-in-Chief We want this campaign to be wildly successful and have made every effort to attract top talent and dedicated partners. Paul will guide our editorial team as they work to turn dozens of undiscovered writers into the next generation of comic book creators. Our Partner As a "cultural investor", Telefilm Canada is best known for their work in television and film. They had never tried comic books until Zeros 2 Heroes came along, but they're excited to be part of this digital comics revolution. Typically, it can be challenging for new writers to win funding from institutions such as Telefilm but we think that Comic Creation Nation offers a unique solution. As a kind of "micro-grant" program, this campaign will allow dozens of unknown writers to bypass the paperwork and gain access to the small amount of funding needed to kick-start their careers. |
