Jason Cook Awarded Screenwriting Grant

When we started the Comic Creation Nation campaign earlier this year, our goal was to help aspiring comic creators get their big break. You can define "big break" in a lot of ways, but with the comics-to-film movement dominating Hollywood, feature films have become the new brass ring.

Turns out that the good folks at the Harold Greenberg Fund were also intrigued by how the Zeros 2 Heroes community creates, refines and selects great new stories from unheralded writers. And they were willing to help kick-start the career of one Z2H member.

After some serious deliberations, they have selected one creator to receive a $15,000 screenwriting grant (and the resulting fame and fortune):

It was, of course, a very tough call and the Harold Greenberg Fund hopes to work with all of the finalists in some capacity. And, rest assured, Zeros 2 Heroes will keep doing our part to help other fanboys live the dream.

In the meantime, a round of collective, web-based applause for the man whose main character just won't stay dead.
